With a name like Bushtit, I had to find out the story behind it. Here’s the best explanation I found, from animalia.bio:

American naturalist John Kirk Townsend first described the species in 1837, after spotting it in the forests along the Columbia River. He named it Parus minimus — “parus” being Latin for titmouse, and “tit” dating back to the Old Icelandic titr, meaning something small. So really, “bushtit” just means “tiny little bird that lives in bushes.” Fitting.

Now let’s talk personality

In my personal opinion, these tiny birds are basically the party animals of the sky. They travel in small flocks and jump around like they keep looking for the best party. Watching them, you get the sense they’re just out there having fun with their friends.

Plus, they are so freaking adorable! They are so cute, but every so often you get a glimpse of their angry-bird side. Maybe they got left behind or don’t like having their photo taken. I don’t know, but they are one of my favorite birds to watch.
